Document Apostille, Document Authentication, Document Legalization process made easy with Legalization Service Centre Canada

You’re excited about relocating to a new country for a new job or maybe you’ve been accepted to the school of your dreams in another country.  Or maybe you’re trying to do business in a foreign country, and you get asked for an Apostille…

What’s that?

Don’t worry, it’s nothing to stress about and at Legalization Service Centre Canada we help people just like you get this question figured out every day.

The first thing to know is that an Apostille is a way to authenticate something like a Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Degree, Power of Attorney, Incorporation Certificate, etc.  Back in 1961, multiple nations convened and agreed to terms outlined in the Apostille Hague Convention, in which they established a shortened process for the validation and legalizing of documents for use in other countries.

But…  Canada has not signed the agreement yet, and therefore does not issue Apostille certificates. There’s no such thing as an Apostille Canada.

So, what does that mean if someone is asking for a document apostille?  The answer is: Canada has an equivalent document authentication and document legalization process that will be accepted in any country.

In Canada, we call the “Apostille Certification process” by another name – Authentication and Legalization.  It’s the exact equivalent of the Apostille process and is recognized by all countries who have signed the Hague Apostille Convention.

Going through this process is doable on your own, but with our help it’s much easier.  Here are just a few reasons why:

WE KNOW THE PROCESS – We’ve done this thousands of times for our clients.  We know what’s needed, when it’s needed and where it needs to be.  That alone can save you precious time and energy!  Whether it’s confirming the embassy requirements or knowing where to find the best notary, we can help.

STEP BY STEP GUIDANCE – We’ll be there through the entire process to answer all of your questions and make sure you’re following the proper procedures for expedited authentication and legalization.  From making sure you have the right documents, to securing the fastest shipping, and then confirming receipt at the destination, we’ll handle all of the details.

The bottom line is that when it comes to such an important and time sensitive process, it’s nice to know you have an expert in your corner.  At Legalization Service Centre Canada it’s our mission to ensure your documents are properly authenticated and legalized in a timely manner.  Our team will help expedite the verification process, and make sure your documents reach the destination country in which it will be used.

Ramadan: Document Authentication, Document Legalization, and Document Attestation during this holy fasting month.

Ramadan: Document Authentication, Document Legalization, and Document Attestation during this holy fasting month.

People practicing Islam all over the world are welcoming the holy holiday  – Ramadan or Ramzan – from May 5th, until June 4th. This is an important and major holiday for all Muslims, as it is deeply rooted in their faith, by being one of the Five Pillars of Islam. People will be fasting during this time: eating and drinking is not allowed from dawn to sunset. Iftar (the breaking of the fast) occurs after sundown, and this routine is upheld until the Eid al-Fitr, which is a celebration of the end of Ramadan and marks the closure of the holy fasting month.

Now, how does this holiday affect the document attestation and document legalization services in Canada?

As this is a very important religious holiday, many private and public institutions will have limited hours of operation during the month. The UAE Embassy in Ottawa, the Qatar Embassy in Ottawa, the Kuwait Embassy in Ottawa, the Saudi Arabia Embassy in Ottawa, and the respective consulates, are just some of the services that will be affected. It may be harder to contact the embassies at this time, and delays are to be expected.

Clients can rest assured, however, that although there might be a delay in the processing of your documents, we at the Legalization Service Centre are experienced with Authentication of documents, Legalization of documents, and Attestation of documents process in Canada. We will get your marriage certificates, birth certificates processed without any delays. The certified translations, and all of your Global Affairs Canada authentication of documents needs will be done in no time. We will ensure that they are ready to be used overseas in the Middle East. For further information on authentication and legalization services in Ottawa, please contact us and we will help you start your paperwork as soon as possible.

Attestation of Canadian Documents for UAE Work Visa: What you should know

Attestation of Canadian Documents for UAE Work Visa: What you should know

If you need a Canadian document attested for use in the UAE, it’s important to understand the process.  You might have heard that the attestation of documents for a UAE work visa is a difficult process, but if you take the proper steps, it’s not as hard as you think.

The first thing to know is that the Canadian Attestation process is different from most other countries because Canada doesn’t issue Apostilles. Instead, they have an equivalent process called “Authentication and Legalization”.

The first step is Authentication of Documents – This is where the document is sent to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) to be approved.  Once that happens, you’ll get a Certificate of Authentication that can be attached to the document.

The next step is Document Legalization – This is where your document is sent to the UAE Embassy where they’ll add a Certificate of Legalization to the back page.

After both of those steps are completed, you’ll return your document to the UAE to be attested at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).  Once that’s completed, they’ll send it back to you or the destination of your choosing.

It sounds complicated, but as we mentioned earlier, knowing the proper steps is half the battle.  There can be some variables depending on the type of document and the province in which the document was issued.  Here are a couple examples of variations to the normal document attestation process:

For Canadian University Degrees, attestation at the UAE Embassy requires a copy of the transcripts to be sent to them directly from the University.

Some documents require notarization before they can be authenticated and legalized.  To do this, you simply have a public notary, or an attorney witness the document signings, and then they will attach a signed notary seal to show that the document is legitimate.

Of course, there are other variations and things to know about the attestation of Canadian documents for the UAE, but with this understanding you should be able to navigate the process fairly smoothly.  As always, if you need help, Legalization Services Centre Canada is always here to answer questions and help expedite the process.  Let us know if we can help!

Embassy of Qatar in Canada

How to Attest Documents for A Qatar Work Visa

As one of the fastest developing countries in the Middle East, Qatar is one of the top destinations for skilled workers from around the world. Over the last two decades, Qatar has grown their skilled labor force tremendously because of their strict immigration policies, allowing only the best foreign talents to help shape its future.

Of the many countries that Qatar seeks new workers from, Canada tops the list because it is home to some of the most prestigious universities in the world with an emphasis on fields like engineering and education that are in high demand in Qatar. Because the relationship between Qatar and Canada has grown over the last several decades, there is quite a bit of paperwork shared back and forth.

Before your Canadian documents such as Canadian Degrees, Birth Certificate, Powers of Attorney, Transcripts, etc. can be accepted in Qatar, they must go through a rigorous validation process. In Qatar, this process is known as attestation although in other countries you might know the process as apostille.

In Canada specifically, the process is referred to as authentication or legalization because the country did not sign The Hague Apostille Convention.

Additional Materials You’ll Need

Because Qatar is such a sought-after working destination, those that wish to secure their employment in the country will have to go through a few extra steps and provide additional documents compared to other countries’ laws. In addition to the ordinary frees, payments, and original degrees or diplomas and transcripts from the university, people going through the attestation process will need to contact their university and request additional materials sent directly to the embassy in Qatar.

Without obtaining these additional required documents, you won’t be able to complete the attestation process in Qatar. Before getting started, we recommend that you know all of the dimensions of your degree to ensure that the shipping and delivery process goes smoothly.

The Qatar embassy in Canada will only accept original degrees and documents which can be challenging if your original prints are large and delicate as they could be damaged during the legalization process for Qatar.

Attestation Occurs in Two Places

First, you will need to have all of your relevant documents authenticated at Global Affairs Canada. After you complete that stage, you can then have your documents legalized at the Qatar Embassy in Canada.

The first stage ensures that your documents are legitimate in which you will receive a stamp of approval that the Embassy of Qatar will then recognize as it attests (legalizes) them to give you final approval before entering the country.

We’re Here to Help

When traveling to work in a different country on the other side of the world, jumping through hoops and dealing with the various governmental agencies can become confusing and stressful. If you ever need assistance with your documents or have any general questions regarding this process you can contact the Legalization Service Centre, and we’ll help save you weeks of processing time and make the process easy as we will get your documents authenticated by the Global Affairs Canada and get them attested by the Qatar Embassy in Canada.

Document Validation

3 ASPECTS OF DOCUMENT VALIDATION

Document validation is commonly required, and it is necessary to provide valid documents when traveling or working internationally. Document validation has many aspects, and the process can seem confusing from the outside. We can help familiarize you with a few of the most common aspects.

What is Document Validation?

Your document will need to pass through a lot of hands in the validation process, as every overseeing official has a specific role which verifies, certifies and prepares your documents for each successive step. This process is designed to provide a common chain that links different nations together for the purpose of honoring international law. This practice ensures that officials from your country of origin and those from a foreign mission can agree that your documents are trustworthy. We provide the service that streamlines this process for our clients. Legalization Service Centre specializes in meeting document validation requirements from all sides.

Notarization of Documents

Often, the first step for your document’s validation will be to have a duly appointed public official, called a notary, witness the signing of your document. This is a third party representative testifying to the validity of your document, and your document will receive a stamp and signature from this process. In some cases a notary will oversee the creation of an officially certified true copy of your document, for instance, if the original is too dear or cannot otherwise be marked or shipped.

Authentication of Documents

In Canada, document authentication is the first step to full attestation, or recognition of a document’s international validity. The authentication process is overseen by the Office of Global Affairs Canada. Legalization Service Centre offices are located close to the GAC in Ottawa, so we can facilitate prompt resolution for our clients. This typically involves applying an official stamp and signature to your document, but certain requirements must first be met. We can help you make sure that all seals and signatures are verified so that your documents can be recognized as genuine in another country or jurisdiction.

Legalization of Documents

You may have heard terms like attestation, apostille, or even superlegalization applied to the process of document validation. In any case, this is the final step. Legalization requires a foreign consulate, ministry or representative to sign off on your document. The consular officer will attest to the authenticity of the signatures and seals on your document and add their own. With this, the chain of trust has been established and all protections of international law that have been agreed upon will be in effect. This allows the recognition of your documents as legitimate throughout travel or business affairs.

We’re The Professionals

Most people don’t need to know all the ins-and-outs of document validation. They just want genuine documents so they can get to where they’re going. Our clients receive the expert assistance they need to quickly walk through these steps. Interfacing with local and foreign authorities and meeting their requirements is our specialty. We make certain your documents are prepared correctly and can pass quickly through each step in the process.

Attestation of documents in Canada

Attestation of Documents in Canada

The attestation of documents in Canada is the process when the Canadian documents get certified as being genuine and are legal to be used in other countries. For example, many Canadians currently live and work in foreign countries. For their degrees to be accepted in those countries, they need to be attested by the appropriate Embassies and Consulates in Canada. The whole meaning of the attestation process is to make sure that the Canadian documents can be accepted in foreign jurisdictions without any reservations.

Please do not be confused with the attestation of documents process for evaluation of the foreign educational documents. This attestation process is different from the one we discuss here.

We are receiving many inquiries related to the attestation of documents process for Canadian documents for use in countries like Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Czech Republic, China, Aruba, Mexico and so on. The most requested documents for the attestation of documents process are: university degrees, school report cards, birth and marriage certificates, criminal record check certificates and many others.

The attestation of documents is another term of the authentication and legalization of documents and also Apostille process. All these terms are related to the international document processing services and are being regulated by the international conventions.

Attestation of Documents Steps

The attestation of documents process usually requires passing two important steps. The first step is to get the Canadian documents authenticated by the Canadian government.  This step ensures that the documents have been issued legally by the appropriate authorities. Only Canadian government officials can verify that the documents are genuine. Once the government officials have authenticated the documents, the second step would be to get them attested by the appropriate Embassies or Consulates. For example, if your degree is required to be presented in order to obtain a Qatari work visa, then the degree has to be attested by the Qatari embassy in Canada.

There is one more steps which is a notarization. This is an optional step that is employed when you attest the certified true copies of the original documents. In this case, the first step would be to go to the notary public office and notarize the documents as certified true copies.

In some countries, additional third step may be required. This step involves finalizing the attestation process by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country in question. Let’s take our previous example with attestation of the degree for a Qatari work visa. Once the degree passed two steps in Canada, the third step would be to finalize the degree at the Ministry of External Affairs of the State of Qatar.

We understand that the attestation process might be confusing so please do not hesitate to contact us. We have an extended experience in attestation of documents services, so we will professionally walk you through this process.
